A shrub or bush is a horticultural rather than strictly botanical category of woody plant, distinguished from a tree by its multiple stems and lower height, usually less than 15-20 ft tall. A large number of plants can be either shrubs or trees, depending on the growing conditions they experience.

Variety Among the Evergreens: Evergreen plantings need not be so somber if you combine some of the broad-leaved evergreens with the conifers. The variety of foliage effect, the difference in habit of growth thus obtained, not only relieves the monotony but gives a de-lightful and artistic effect.
